This is stupid--- but if I'm going to post something that draws the publics interest in talking about why should all my specific threads concerning that conversation be removed.

If the majority bans me I will move off this site for good. I just request all my posts get deleted as I would like my account deleted off this website.

I did nothing wrong in the East Boston site just thinking about affordability in the city and how the city is subsidizing the housing which the real estate values are out of control. It was just a topic of conversation which generated interest then Statler moves my posts to a new thread and says NO...? What type of bullshit is that?

I got the idea from the article from the Mayor of Somerville claming that illegal immigrants are granted sanctuary which to buy Real estate in Somerville you have to be a millionaire.

What is wrong with that?

So far looks like I'm banned from the site. Give it 24 hours.
We should do a survey.

Should you get banned? No.

Should you take your political opinions and shove them up your ass, along with every single other person on this site? Yes. Political bickering is kind of wrecking the forum. I applaud Statler for closing the politics thread. Let's keep it from bleeding into everything else.

I am saying this to you as someone who has learned my own lessons here. For instance, I now resist the urge to post in the bicycle threads because I know my opinion is going to be unpopular and I have gone down that ugly road before. Before you post, think "is this going to turn into another me-against-the-forum bitchfest?" and if that is a likely scenario, RESIST THE URGE!!! You don't have to be a sheep, just try not to be a troll either. It can be a fine line sometimes.

By the way, I thought your "advice for happiness" from about a month ago was actually pretty good. (even if you often come across as UNHAPPY on this forum!)
 
I moved your posts because I felt that you could have made your point without dragging the topic of 'illegals' and sanctuary cities into the thread. That made your post off-topic, so I moved them.

And for the record, moving a post from one part of the forum to another doesn't fall under even the broadest definition of 'censorship'.
 
Free speech is pretty pointless if people only listen to people who say all the same things.

Rifle should not be banned. While he has some dissenting political opinions he does contribute to the fourm in a mostly positive way.
 
Personally, I enjoyed delving into the mind of the other side politically, and am still a little confused/intrigued by the unwillingness to accept fact. Regardless, the dumpster fire that was the politics thread should not jump ship to the mostly unrelated topics that we all originally came here for.

Somebody's being a little over sensitive.
 
I can't imagine why anyone wants to discuss national politics so frequently on this forum. There are a million other forums where that topic is more appropriate.

I voted ban, though not because I dislike dissenting views. I voted ban because Rifleman is and always has been a troll. His angry rants and deliberate trolling outnumber non-trolling posts about 50:1. I believe he comes here to deliberately try to make others angry. This isn't new. This is a consistent pattern for the last several years and I do not believe he is going to change his ways.

Rifleman, I'm sorry that in all this time you haven't learned basic forum manners. I feel that you aren't making a positive contribution to this community. If you want to do something nice for ArchBostson for a change, I think you ought to voluntarily stop posting here. The internet is a big place and I'm sure there is a forum primarily about politics that would be a little more tolerant of your trolling style. Godspeed.
 
I would like to point out that I'm completely unclear what IN and OUT in the poll stand for. If I say IN, does that mean I want to keep you in the forum, or that I'm totally "IN" with banning you for life?
 
I voted in cause I don't want to kick rifle out. At least not yet, give the man a chance.
