Already downloaded and safely tucked away.

That's a pretty ugly garage. At least it builds up the street wall along WTC Ave and D St. Apart from that there's not much to be said for it.

I don't think we can really say it builds up the streetwall. There's a large setback on both sides, filled (apparently) with raised beds of unkempt grass.

You know what WOULD build up the streetwalls? Throwing real buildings on top of this thing, as in the recent bullfinch triangle projects.

Didn't anybody think to maybe design in some retail square footage along the "street wall". Dead wall space.

Seriously, I don't care if it's another Dunkin', a bank or a CVS, not putting any retail on the ground floor of that massive garage is a HUGE mistake. It's bad enough they are building such a large above ground garage.

Why is it that in the US we have such a painfully limited view of what a parking garage can be? It really doesn't take much of an effort to turn this into a net asset for urban vitality...

You've got a point. I was thinking more in terms of having a wall block your line of sight, instead of just staring into empty space.

^ Cambridge Center garage roof is nice, but note how the first two examples are full of people and the third.. isn't. We can do better.

It would be good if the Cambridge Center garage had, say, food/drink stands at the top. It would also be good if there were clearer access. Despite the signage, it's not obvious you'd want to go up there or how to get there.

Hayward Baker is installing mini piles on the site of Waterside Place 1B in preparation of the SBWTC Garage connecting ramp.
