South Boston Infill and Small Developments

Why is the project at W Broadway and D keeping the first floor? I've noticed theyve kept the facades on the first floor on a few projects, this one, the Savin Hill Kitchen project and I think they did it in that project next to 7-11 on broadway in BEE's pictures as well... Is this to skirt permitting somehow?

This might not count as infill, but new renderings released for 105 West First Street in Southie (RCN building). https://www.google.com/maps/place/105+W+First+Street+Boston+MA/@42.3426157,-71.0532484,3a,75y,17.51h,90t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sDsVHheo-5RzWQ1Mwh7mXBg!2e0!7i13312!8i6656!4m2!3m1!1s0x0:0xa09841bd15bdf7a3!6m1!1e1

Mod's feel free to move this to it's own/existing thread.

I wonder how a lot of these are going to age. Theres a few really good buildings going up and tons of garbage. Sometimes when youre so worried about building at break neck speeds you dont get to sit back and realize maybe this is going to look like shit in 10 years.

Cross your fingers we'll all be dead by then.

What's up with the lack of windows on that ugly green project at D and West Broadway?

They haven't cut the full openings yet, since they're using the excess as bracing.
