That site has come a long way, it's on the left in the opening sequence:

Google Street View was imaged this summer, but you can get a hint of the design cues for the ground floor from several of its neighbors, including cast cement blocks at the corner.

Yeah, I missed that that was a planter in front and also that there is a door behind the tree, so it not that bad, I guess.

Boston Medical Center sells three South End buildings

Boston Medical Center has agreed to sell three buildings on or near Harrison Avenue to Leggat McCall Properties, a deal that could fuel additional development in a rapidly changing corner of the South End.

Leggat will acquire 660 Harrison Ave., 100 East Canton St. and 720 Harrison Ave. The transaction also included an option for Leggat to purchase 88 East Newton St. in three years. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Executives from Leggat could not be immediately reached for comment on the transaction. Harrison Avenue has experienced a spurt of redevelopment in recent years, transforming many of its low-slung brick buildings into residential and retail complexes.

Well, looks like the Church of Scientology is not moving into the SE after all....interesting that the central admin. bumped the minimum square footage to 50K...just 8K more than was available in the Alexandria. Now who's going to buy and develop the place....finally?

Wonder if this is connected with the following headline [one of several similar]
Mayor, union reserve judgment on possible BMC-Tufts merger

Mayor Martin J. Walsh and a key health workers union are taking a wait-and-see stance on the possible merger between Tufts Medical Center and Boston Medical Center — which will be judged, they say, based on how well the teaching hospitals operate as a fused entity.

“As long as it’s successful in keeping the hospital system strong in Boston, I certainly would not be opposed to it,” Walsh said. “As it moves forward, we will have conversations as well as the city just to make sure there’s a presence in every neighborhood.”

Will be interesting to see if the facade of the demolished Ivory Bean house will be part of any future development.

Nice of the Scientologists to come in, sit on a property for a few years, leaving it fallow, destroy the Ivory Bean, then move on. Bravo!

Something's going in at 1730 Washington/9E Springfield St, behind the Porter House. This has been a parking lot for several years. I can't find renderings anywhere

Anyone know any more about the 1730 Washington/9E Springfield St development from Roxxma pics?

The most recent info I can find is that the South End Landmark Commission held a hearing on a 9-unit housing proposal back in June. But, no info on floors/renderings/if it was downsized?

Another interesting nugget:
799 Albany Street (Albany Street Tower; Protection Area)
Applicant: Richard Jabba, Consultant; Phil Renzi, Architect: Proposed construction of a new 26 story mixed-use (residential/office) building.

So that project looks to be working its way through the approval process, at least as of last june.

Is that this building:

The area between Mass Ave, Washington St and Melnia Cass could support a substantial amount of housing in some good sized building.

The next phase on Crosstown Center was to be about 225,000 sq ft on Albany St beside the parking garage. Don't know the status.

The old Concord Baptist Church on Warren Ave is finally making some visible progress on the way to condo conversion. The old wood cupola has been taken down and reframed (seems substantially larger). This project has gone very slowly at least 3 years.

Yeah, I believe so. There is an old thread for it back a few pages: http://www.archboston.org/community/showthread.php?t=3965

Not sure if it is worth dropping the link in there? No sense getting people excited and having them see it is just about a community meeting from last summer.

Note that the building on the far left looks like it was rehabbed, but the other two look like they can desperately stand some much needed tender loving care!!!

The building in the middle was torn down. Hopefully the Alexandria does not have the same fate

There was a fire there many years ago so perhaps that the original height or perhaps it's going taller for the condos

Edit - I found this link with the original height
