I was thinking that too. The flat sides of this are definitely the closest approximations of the Hancock's glass in the city. As it's almost 50 years newer, a more contemporary comparison would be the glass on 4 World Trade Center in NYC.

There also not cladding that SE wedge portion (to the right of the construction elevator) for some reason. With back-to-back weeks with storms featuring SE'rly winds, I wonder how those panel have been stressed with extreme wind/ pressure hitting them from the interior facing side...

From a distance, with some elevation, and through binoculars, I could see vertical rebar framing going into casting molds. Guessing it’s the first level of the extended elevator shaft but it could be other structural elements. In any case it’s a sign of progress and activity. Curtain wall is going up quickly as well.
