As a proud union town, I think there would be some pretty big protests if Hines threw hundreds of sacrificial peasant worker bodies to get this tower up in a matter of months. The run on inflatable rats would be unimaginable.

The asymmetry of the massing bothered me in the renderings. But as you approach the building from different neighborhoods, well, it doesn’t seem obvious from the “man in the street” view.

Goes back to the 1960s. They built the supports between the rail lines in a 1980s upgrade to south station.

Didn’t appreciate until recently when looking at the website that the channel-facing point is going to have private patios for the residences. You can see it now in the cut out sections that don’t have windows covering the full floor height.

Beautiful pics. I know there are still interesting projects underway, but this feels like the end of an era for this building boom.
