The Hub on Causeway (née TD Garden Towers) | 80 Causeway Street | West End

Hope so. I hope sooner than later as thats a key parcel between the back bay n fenway. Nice tower too, but if its prolonged it will coming back as a new design unfortunately... or fortunately, depending on what it comes back as. Really would have been nice to have this part of that road fixed up too. Whats there now is terrible. This would go a really long way towards wrapping up all those little loose ends of crappy stuff still left over and lingering around from back when the land wasnt in crazy high demand so you could just throw up whatever the hell pos you wanted and they didnt care because it was something. That doesnt fly anymore.

Anyways the podiums always were and still will be the biggest part of this development. The towers were icing on the cake. Looks like both are going to be mediocre but yes Ill hold off on final judgement. The podiums are wonderful though and give a very long stretch of roadway a streetwall that has not had one in a pretty long time. Even when there was one it was the garden and did not have retail and there was an elevated highway and before that an elevated train so the area was crap anyways. Nothing like this has been here before unless you probably go back to the 1800s and Im not sure what it was. In a weird way creating this elevated highway was the best thing that could ever happen to Boston. Because now we have this absolutely incredible greenway slicing right through downtown that never would have been able to be built. Its maturing now too and realllllly coming into its own. We have old brick buildings everywhere, but we dont have greenways everywhere so this is perfect. Im sure we lost some nice stuff, but we have tons of nice stuff left too and this is an absolute gem. Its weird how stuff can come full circle like that where smarter people later down the line can take a huuuuuge mistake and turn it in to one of the best things thats ever happened to the city. The waterfront right there and a park wrapping around the edge of downtown from beginning to end of the financial district is an incredible combination that you wont really find in many other cities. Perfection.

Edit:
Even the bollards helped to make this area crappy lol. Those things were just strewn all over the place and not in a straight line at all so they were crooked and misaligned, unevenly spaced, some were chipped, and it was overall an absolute mess. Plus the shape of them being round balls sitting on top of square bases just looked stupid lol. The new ones are muuuch better and look professional, do their job, and give the are a clear modern vibe. They really fixed basically all of the problems that were plaguing this area. Someone made me notice the street lights today, idk how I feel about em Ill have to look in person, but overall they really left no stone unturned to make this another seamlessly integrated part of the city. I think that they dont really match anything else around, definitely don't look old, but they look professional and modern and like they'll put out a lot of light with their height too. Its kind of looking like a professional area so they kind of fit in with what should be the lit up entrance of the hub also. Idk well have to see but I dont think theyre that bad but again Ill have to see them in person.

That's puzzling...my niece in Lynn has "Yankees suck" on her bumper. I wonder how she got up on that Hub on Causeway beam to post that message?* :)

*Without getting caught. :p

Rapid7 is a cybersecurity company founded in New York. Unknown whether the 'Yankees suck" signage on the steel girder was an intended welcome.

Great pics but they will almost definitely be taken down. You should resize to 2080 x 1170 so we can still see the detail.

You edited your post so the pics went from huge to tiny. Got anything in between?

This is honestly coming out much better than I expected. The design seemed rather boring but in person and in photos everything seems to work and the glass is actually pretty nice looking. As for the mismatching of the white and gray panels, I think this is less offensive than what the Pierce did. It might even kind of work on this one. Its also really skinny from some angles which will make it feel even taller.
