Re: Residences at Kensington

This building is shame. Boston deserves better.

Re: Residences at Kensington

^^^ OK n00b, we get it. Stop getting the last word on this. But more importantly, don't resurrect a thread without actual news.

Re: Residences at Kensington

Like I said before, I feel like the finished product of this is going to end up being inoffensive, decent filler which will blend in more than anything else and helps create a new Washington St canyon. It's not great, but it's not the disaster we are all making it out to be.

Re: Residences at Kensington

Argh, kz! You beat me to posting photos! We must have just missed each other a few times walking around town.

This looks remarkably thin from the Common. And as it finishes, I feel it's not so much offensive as it is bland.

Re: Residences at Kensington

Ah...actually I did 90% of my shooting today from the driver's seat of a car, so that could explain how our paths never crossed (but shhh don't tell anyone I did that!). What time were you out? I got all mine in at noon, give or take 30 minutes.

And I agree that the Common perspective may be its most flattering angle. The view from directly south isn't too shabby, either.

Re: Residences at Kensington

Looks fine to me its no supertall so we dont need an icon here it blends in just fine and serves its purpose adding density and residential space.

Re: Residences at Kensington

Your secret's safe with me, kz. Looks like I came around about an hour or two later than you yesterday.

I went through my photos and looked for some different angles. All from yesterday!

And, I think, an accurate description of how some of us feel about this project:

Re: Residences at Kensington

does anyone else see the brightly colored insulation on buildings under construction and really wish that was the color of the finished structure?

Re: Residences at Kensington

I got awfully excited that it wasn't brown and then realized what it was. :(

I would love it if they kept the lower portion green like it is now.
