Captain Cock N Balls strikes again!

Interesting details being framed over.

I feel the same way. I am actually digging the development overall. The picture that shows (in what appears to be the bell tower) side-by-side windows that have beautiful brick arch ways being covered by framing is very disappointing. I understand this is luxury and all, but that would be so so beautiful with some TLC.

If that was my condo Id ripped that all down and exposed the beautiful stonework, after all its an old church I wd want as many old details to remain not covered up

^^^ That's what I was thinking, at least on the outside walls. Insulation has to go somewhere. As for the interior walls, uh, "Modernism"?

Ha.. if I was the owner, it would probably irritate me to no end knowing that somewhere in the wood framing is a dick doodle.

By the way, those interior posts are huge. It's a shame that 1) it's a lot of lost space, 2) that they get framed over. Bet they still get counted towards total advertised sqft. though.

It actually doesn't look as monstrous as in the renderings. Looks kind of cool, in fact.

^I have to agree it looks really cool. The dark black mullions make this thing honestly. They give it a modern gothic vibe, which looks even better in person. To be fair I have seen it up close in person but from where I was it looks awesome.

While I love the renovation and I think the materials on the new part are great I still think that this just looks terrible together.

It's weird, but I sort of dig it lol. Wish the inside incorporated more elements from the church though and not just the facade.

Agreed. It's about as well done as one could expect given you're dumping a box on top of a church (it does a surprisingly good job nailing the gothic tone) but at the end of the day it's still just a box dumped onto a church, which is nearly impossible to make look natural.

In time, the only elevation that will likely be more than fleetingly visible is the front, and the front looks great.

Streetview of the church after demolition and before re-construction.

Good: flying buttresses
Bad: roof junk
The steeple really needs the pergola-ish thing that was in the original renderings. Overall a fine project.
