Have been saying I hope this development becomes a cafe because this area desperately needs a proper cafe.
 
Not sure where else to put this, but the South End Walgreens on Washington Street is closing on July 15. The Facebook rumor mill is a poor place get information from, but they're claiming that shrinkage is at least partially driving the decision.

CVS also recently closed their store at the corner of Tremont and Herald. Seems like both companies are set on leaving the neighborhood entirely, with the exception of the Ink Block CVS and the one next to Back Bay, both of which are probably considered to be in "better" areas.

The Tremont and Herald CVS long seemed like a temporary location while they got the Ink Block one up and running.
