Balconies are definitely a personal preference. I'm on the side supporting balconies. Why?

I would love to be able to work outside while being able to use my own reliable wifi rather than from a cafe and given that I work from home, it's a convenient place to be able to be outside the house. It also provides some extra storage space to store your bike or just relax in the sun.

I'm also on the side that I don't find balconies as a negative to the design and feel like they give buildings more depth and breaks up the monolithic facade that a lot of buildings suffer from.

For example, I prefer the Residences at Century Plaza in Century City over their taller cousin, One Dalton, because the balconies give them much more depth and makes them more interesting.

But yeah too each their own

That's because it is close ... only about 2 miles from the building in question.

Boston has the closest airport to its downtown out of any major American city.
Likely second closest behind San Diego but the point stands nevertheless. (Las Vegas could be closer depending on whether you count the Strip as a CBD)

Logan's proximity to downtown Boston is amazing, as is South Station & Back Bay for Amtrak.

When I worked in Consulting, I could walk from my apartment in Hudson Yards to the train at Penn, then take the Acela to South Station and walk to our Boston office. The logistics were so seamless.

Regarding McK, consulting firms have been consolidating space for the last couple of years as they were lightly utilized with M-Th travel for staff - the offices were empty most of the week, and then came the pandemic/WFH. They probably saw this as a way to upgrade their space and drastically reduce their overall footprint.

In NYC, Accenture, McKinsey, EY and BCG all moved to shiny new spaces in Hudson Yards - sort of a competition.

My brother, I guess got a tour and sent me these pics

San Diego? The end of the runway is a few blocks from the edge of downtown.
I thought I read that Logan is the closest major city airport to the central business district in the world. I don't know that the article I read considers San Diego as a major city/airport, but having been there several times, I know it is quite close but geographically, it's a very different layout from Boston, so I'm not sure how they measure the proximity.
