Encore Boston Harbor Casino | 1 Broadway | Everett

Re: Wynn Everett Casino | Everett

Actually... the facade is different than Vegas. Vegas they have the horizontal white every two floors, but here it will be between every floor.

A bit of an illusion to make the Wynn Boston Harbor look to have the similar proportions as Wynn Vegas, but with a hotel less than half the size.

Re: Wynn Everett Casino | Everett

Its different yes, its a different building. The tower is smaller here, but if you look close although its not two floors theres two panes of glass between each floor. They are building it to look extremely similar. The Wynn Macau is smaller than all of them but scaled down to reflect the same Wynn model. I guess I could have been more specific, its not the same building as Las Vegas, the glass and trim color is the same like it is everywhere else and when looking at it its going to be "visually extremely similar" to the building in Vegas although not an exact replica. The swoop on the roof is also bigger to differentiate.

Re: Wynn Everett Casino | Everett

I thought that they started with the facade already.

Re: Wynn Everett Casino | Everett

I have never been so excited to see bronzey-brown glass panel being installed in my life.

Re: Wynn Everett Casino | Everett

You can see two rows of the new facade on the south face of the tower.

I don't see the wide gap between the grey lines in the facade in the renders. Weird. According to them the first horizontal grey line isn't supposed to be there. The bronze glass starts off as taller above the podium then moves in to the facade with the lines going across. Weird that they added this grey line that wont match the rest up the tower. The very bottom of the glass is not supposed to have that line, its just supposed to be glass. I wonder why they did this?

Heres a new render: Dont see it here...

The low casino building looks every Cheesecake Factory in this country. I defy the architect to explain their formal moves with a straight face.

"Wynn likes cheesy, and Wynn is paying," said with a totally straight face.

Re: Wynn Everett Casino | Everett

Cheese is a key element in casino architecture.

Re: Wynn Everett Casino | Everett

I hope your not serious (sounds like your not) that after 9 panels go up that the facade is already a failure lol that would be a world record. Wynn has built a few of these around the world now theres no reason they don't have the glass on lock. It looks the same as the one in vegas...it is.

Heres the Vegas tower facade under construction. Looks the same.

For the grand finale of:

Lets put that one to rest before it even gets started even though your kidding. We've seen this happen here all too often where we get the renders...looks good, glass is halfway on...people wonder wtf is going on, tower finishes "this is better than I expected". Lets hold off a bit here lol.

Got it!

Mass. Gaming Commission told that the proposed footbridge between Somerville's Assembly Row and the Everett casino would cost "significantly more" than $5m-$7m estimates from a prior study last decade.

But... "How much this is going to cost and who’s going to pay for it remain to be determined." Wynn, however, has agreed to pitch in some, according to Gaming Commission.

Shocking.

Nope:

no risk of future implosion.

Re: Wynn Everett Casino | Everett

Let's build our own ponte vecchio and lease the space to retailers to pay for it! I'm only half kidding.

Personally I prefer making a level pedestrian/bike connection over the Amelia Earheart Dam with some pedestrian draw bridges. It is preferable for people walking/biking under their own power not to have to climb up and down a 30' incline.

But that alignment could be very nice and provide for some nicer views along the bridge. Certainly for Wynn access it is better and then you don't have to worry about the boat traffic closing a draw bridge periodically.

A little suggestion on that graphic and future graphics based on that... Really should show the connection to the bike path and riverfront trails on the other side though to make it clear it doesn't just dead end at the casino. Because this really does tie both sides of the river together in a way that is good for business and people.

Really good to see this moving forward. Hopefully the price tag is doable or they can fall back to a plan that is doable.

Re: Wynn Everett Casino | Everett

How about a gondola from Assembly Row T station to the new casino?

Kidding... but not kidding.

Re: Wynn Everett Casino | Everett

^ After the Ponte Giovane suggestion (which would be too great to ever happen) I'm not sure what type of gondola you're suggesting.

I'd take either.

Wynn was already planning on chipping in which means casino customers will be paying their share with their gambling. The question is how much.

Yes and no. Unless he alters the odds to be more favorable to the house, then any funding he contributes will come off his bottom line.
