^^^Thanks but this is a very outdated picture. It was further along in Beeline's pics from 3 weeks ago.

Solar heated pool! They're going green see?

Re: Wynn Everett Casino | Everett

I asked this same question on the 1 Dalton thread: Can these concrete buildings still be poured in the extreme cold weather we are experiencing? If not, what is the lowest temperature that is safe to still pour, in order to ensure the concrete reaches its necessary strength? Are there other facets of the outer construction that also cannot be completed in these temperatures, such as hanging the glass curtain wall? (I'm not sure why this would be, except if there is frozen moisture)

Thanks in advance to whomever takes the time to answer!

Re: Wynn Everett Casino | Everett

I've often wondered if there are OSHA rules about working outdoors in this type of weather. Obviously there are certain jobs that need to be completed in almost any weather (linemen, cops, EMTs,etc) but I wonder if a 'nonessential' job site can be shut down for safety reasons. I have no idea how you could hang from the side of a building 100+ in the air and attach a sheet of glass in this type of weather. I can barely hold onto my keys.

...I can barely hold onto my keys.

I wonder, too. I watched workers installing window frames in the coffee shop section of AVA Northpoint this morning while walking the dog. They kept dropping some of the metal pieces...

Re: Wynn Everett Casino | Everett

I definitely was looking at the wrong FB page. The link below is far more robust and interactive.

I think you're looking at the wrong Facebook page. Wynn Boston Facebook has been engaging its followers pretty well, actually, since it got started. They've had a dozen posts in the last month alone, and already 10,000+ followers.

Re: Wynn Everett Casino | Everett

I apologize if this was mentioned before, but I was doing some research on the old Everett Orange Line Station. I find it ironic that the old Everett station was located at Broadway at Beacham Street, which I believe would be RIGHT across the street from the Entrance to Wynn Boston Harbor. It closed in 1975 with the Haymarket North Orange Line Extension.

What happened to that right of way? Sure'd be handy for a busway.

If you look in google maps you can still see the stubs from the Charlestown elevated where it went over the Mystic.

Looking at the wikipedia page of Everett Station and plugging in the coordinates to google maps, it looks like it terminated right where the current Honda Cars of Boston dealership is (not sure how accurate that is though).

Re: Wynn Everett Casino | Everett

I have confirmation from Fenagh Engineering that concrete work has been halted since last Wednesday due to the extreme low temperatures.

fenagh_engineering@datadyne007 concrete placements have been halted during the extreme low temperatures. We have not had a pour since last Wednesday on either job.

similar thing happened at assembly a few years back.

The curse of the Mystic construction sites.

Yah one person was killed and one injured in an elevator collapse while they were building the Partners building.
