The Hub on Causeway (née TD Garden Towers) | 80 Causeway Street | West End

Real height isn't going to happen. i believe the tallest you can go in the historical district is 100'. As part of the Bulfinch Triangle plan; to manage growth,

https://archive.org/stream/bulfinchtriangle00bost/bulfinchtriangle00bost_djvu.txt

they gave zoning relief at The Victor, 1 Canal, 104 Canal to go about 175' give or take.

They should rezone it for maybe 180~200' with strict architectural guidelines. with an exception for 37 Merrimack witch should be allowed for maybe a ~280-300' flatiron.

Quite a few have gone much higher recently. At the very least Id want to see the triangle parcel on the edge next to gc garage go tall. Thatd be good enough then just fill in those others with new retail/condos. This is what causes the skyline gap so itd be nice, but I think that parcel would close it enough.

The TD Garden sign was mounted yesterday as well (visible on the live cam). But, isn't there supposed to be a (T) logo in between "North" and "Station"? (Plus, I hope the lighting behind the North Station signage is purple, as shown in most of the renders; it would be a unique touch.)

I went to the Bruins game last Friday and was able to walk through the new entry on the way out. Right now, it's largely an environment of black-painted plywood, and as most of us thought it was quite cold. I took the wrong staircase out of the Garden and wasn't able to exit via the escalators, but here's the view coming out the entry way (sorry for poor exposure):

ETA: Fixed it! :)

ETA: I'm not sure why it isn't embedding.... :(

Canal St. is screaming for pedestrianization in that picture

Me too its iconic. Perfect for the fans of both teams to have our most classic tower in Boston framed like that right when they exit the game. Great for a highly visible area and they couldnt have planned it better. Once the gov ctr garage overhang over the street is gone its going to be even better too because youll see the whole tower instead of just the top.

Great shot!!

It'll be visible for a few years until Phase III of the GCG project goes up.

It appears phase 3's design is kept in line with Canal St. (apart from a low rise retail portion) which might make this view corridor even better...

Its going to make it even better, the bottom wont be blocked by the garage overhang anymore and it lines up with canal st so the new developments will frame it on both sides. Plus the new buildings across the street are low rises anyways theyre barely any taller than the garage so even if it was in the way itll just look like it does now with the bottom half cut off by the garage, so no need to worry this iconic view is here to stay.

if one of you is over near Causeway or Canal Street this afternoon,

perhaps you can take a photo of the new signage.

It would be very cool to see how the nearly completed facade looks.

I am relatively certain this will be the facade sampler for the office tower.

Oh hell yes that lighting looks great. I love the lighting in the entrance especially thats amazing. That led escalator is pretty cool too thats unique. Sooo.... anyone still think this sux now that the left podium glass is finished? This is why you always gotta wait until things finish lol, theres no way someone cant like this... All thats left now is the ground floor so its gonna get even better once thats finished.

That td garden event ticket holder only sign is temporary right?

Oh yea... will the td garden and north station signs be lit? That would be badass.

Seems to be:

That streetwall looks amazing. If only we could tear down the O'Neill building and get more like this.

From what I see on the webcams, it looks like the topping-off flag is going up on the residential tower!

What does the flag matter when they haven't added the top yet? It's been in the same place for about a month now.

Podium looking very solid; cladding on the res tower looking like warmed over Pierce leftovers, and not in a good day after Thanksgiving kind of way. I am not holding out hope for the office tower.

But hey good news, I was never going to go into those buildings anyway so I'll just enjoy the podium and try not to look up.
