The lack of desirable space isn't as bad as the lack of resources (no plotter, no laser cutter, lack of any kind of in-studio printing, list goes on). Northeastern, considering its endowment, is really selling its architecture students short.

I see lets of complaints. The way I choose to view this is, its better than what was there. Given the choice between this and what was there, I'd prefer this. Baby steps.

Bland background buildings are always a plus. They make nice object buildings like ICA all the more unique.

Re: Portside at Pier One Massport has been trying to get this project moving for I believe 13 years now, it is by far their longest stalled project. There's blame on all sides here.

the USPS GMF will be built on the block bounded by an extended E street, summer street, pappas way, and an extended cipher street. the harborwalk is currently being expanded along pappas way while that road is being repaired.

^I'd go a step further and say that however tall a building is, that's how far from the property line it should be. A thousand foot building? Well it needs a square mile of property to be build in the center of.

Are you kidding? The Federal Reserve Tower is probably one of the nicest buildings to come out of that era. Think of this - if the Federal Reserve were located closer to Atlantic Ave, it would partially block the long view down the Greenway you get now (from South Station's perspective). It...
