archBoston Presidential Poll 2012

For whom will you be voting on Tuesday?

Waited in Somerville for 2 hours this morning. 7:20-915. I think I actually saw Mr. Newman as I neared the end of the line.

If you voted in 6-1, then yes. I was volunteering as an official poll worker for the City of Somerville there, from 9 am to about 1:45 pm.

Chicago right now:

Remember when Suffolk Poll said Romney was a lock for Virginia, Florida, and North Carolina in October. I guess they should learn not to count their chickens before they hatch.

An amazing night to be a democrat.
An amazing night to be a woman.
An amazing night to be an ethnic minority.
An amazing night to be LGBT.

The list goes on and on. An amazing night to be an American.

Well, as a straight, white, middle-class male I'm...

actually pretty happy!

Yeah, it is an amazing night not be in those other countries we bomb day in and day out.

[Not that I wanted Romney to win either, nor would I expect anything to change under him, but I fail to see how you can be anything more than very mildly pleased no matter which of the two won.]

My ballot:

Pres: Gary Johnson, Lib
Sen: Scott Brown, Rep (Trust me, I would have done a write-in, but MA rejects them entirely)
Con: Dan Fishman, Lib

Q1: NO
Q2: YES
Q3: YES

I still can't believe Question 2 didn't pass....

Just curious, why did you vote no on 1?

I don't feel all that strongly about it, I'm just not seeing the downside.

The legislature supposedly passed a better law than Q1 already.

Since he is an anarchist he doesn't want to give the government any addition powers, even if they make complete sense.

Why I voted no on 1.

Well, if the car manufacture wants to insulate themselves from technological copy-cats and independent auto mechanics, then they have to build a quality product and a product which the competition simply cannot figure out. If they don't build a quality product, but still use technology that the competition cannot figure out, who the fuck is going to buy their cars? They would have a shitty car with high costs of maintenance and repair. The consumer is going to find a car that they can take to an independent auto-body if the burden of big-name-manufactures really isn't worth it.

Meanwhile in Rhode Island, full casino gambling passes without issue after exactly nobody bothers to mount a No on 1&2 campaign.

I can't wait for seven full casinos to realize that there's not nearly enough gamblers in southern New England to support seven full casinos, followed shortly by a bankruptcy conga line.

It's going to be magical.

"Win RI" indeed.

An amazing night for the American Debt Slaves

"Without Govt Spending there would be NO FUTURE" Priceless

Actually this is true. With no Govt Spending (as in literally no spending at all) the entire economy would shut down. No wait, the entire country will shut down. That means no money for the military, hospitals, infrastructure, education, anything that receives federal funds.

So yes, without Govt Spending, there would be NO FUTURE.

Huh, I never thought about it that way. Good input.

You're argument presupposes that "figuring it out" is feasible and that repair work is done in an equally competitive environment between manufacturers and small time mechanics. Turns out "figuring it out" is cost prohibitive for most mom and pops, and large manufacturers can afford to take a wash on the cost of repair thanks to their overwhelming scale advantage.

I usually respect your posts but SERIOUSLY...........NO FUTURE? I guess Alexander Graham Bell was using Govt Funding.....Or how about the Wright Bros........ The people that make the future are the DREAMERS not a bunch of GOVT shitheads swindling the working class money.

Making the argument that the patent office and, conversely, US patent law is somehow even partly responsible for the proliferation or creation of electricity is insulting to the human spirit.

now that warren has been elected i want my handout. The past 3 years have been the most difficult time in my life financially and have already begun closing my doors. WHERE IS MY HANDOUT.
