Archstone North Point (The one that looks like the Landmark Center)

Again, this is the Archstone Smith development

Archstone-Smith base... at this point all I can do is just laugh it off

To clarify ....

Those latest photos are of the Archstone-Smith apartment (rental) tower. The "NorthPoint" project, while encompassing the entire area, is also the name of the condo project being built by Spaulding & Slye (Jones Lang Lasalle), which at this point only includes two mid-rise residential buildings, behind the building photographed here.

I think we decided earlier in the thread to just lump both projects in here

If you squint the building fades into the sky! It's like there is no tower at all! Those NIMBY's will be so happy when they don't have to "see" this.

Those jaunty blues and yellows of the sheathing are really quite fetching --certainly preferable to whatever mouse skin will cover them. Maybe they could start doing brightly colored buildings to liven things up a bit. You see a fair amount of brighter colors in Europe and Japan.

Seriously, all you would need is a lick of paint and these things would be 10x better.

5/3/07. Not much visually has changed with the two NorthPoint buildings, but over at Archstone-Smith..

The facade is going up on ArchstoneSmith. I wonder if the bricks will be the same color all the way up. It looks a little bland so far.

^^^ Those bricks suddenly make this project look more at home in Allston than its current location. Like ablarc said a few pages back, I wouldn't have minded having the blue stay.

YA, keep the blue and yellow! Haha
Better than what will replace them, that's for sure!!

Think what it means that accidents never meant to be seen exceed in beauty and visual interest the products of earnest labors by architects, developers, community activists, government officials and assorted other muckety-mucks.

Random chance trumps learned, greybeard erudition.

blue glazed brick sounds nice...

europe and asia have buildings with tile facades. why not here?

Again, to make this perfectly clear, these are of the Archstone-Smith development and not NorthPoint (boy, we shoulda split this thread apart a while ago)

Seen in the offices of ADD Inc.

ADD is responsible for the Atelier 505, Lafayette Corporate Center, 700 Harrison (see photos I just posted of it in the South End thread), and Archstone Boston. In other words, a lot of boring stuff

Atelier 505 contains two new live-stage theatres that people seem to like. I wouldn't call that "boring".
