Atlantic Wharf (née Russia Wharf) | Atlantic Ave | Waterfront

Re: Atlantic Wharf (formerly Russia Wharf)

^ And it's 31 stories. So yes, that is very bad reporting.

Re: Atlantic Wharf (formerly Russia Wharf)

^ And there's no way Wellington is acting as the Construction Manager for a buildout of this size. They would have hired a GC who would have a say in the subs it hires. Tough to hold a GC to a turnkey contract if you tell the GC who its subs will be . . .

Re: Atlantic Wharf (formerly Russia Wharf)

^ Typical move on the part of the union. When times are tough, the unions increase their strong-arm tactics. It's not uncommon for unions to forbid their tradesmen from even touching materials (such as millwork) fabricated by non-union shops.

The huge Mayor Menino sign is gone, as you can see.

Re: Atlantic Wharf (formerly Russia Wharf)

these three look great side by side! 1st all glass then glass and steel then all steel!

Re: Atlantic Wharf (formerly Russia Wharf)

^ It's definitely a nice transition. I really like this building ... It looks very "clean lined". Not too many of those on the skyline...

Re: Atlantic Wharf (formerly Russia Wharf)

The subtle slope of the fort point facade is nice as well. I really think this job has done it right, nothing ground breaking but done well. This and Province Street are my two favorite recent projects.

^that last pic is really nice! Well framed. Boston is such a nice looking city from that vantage point. Is that giant block on the left Fan Pier?

Re: Atlantic Wharf (formerly Russia Wharf)

Boston02124, you need to get a better camera.

Re: Atlantic Wharf (formerly Russia Wharf)

Those South Station head houses are freakin' sweet, it's too damn bad they're in the middle of such a wasteland. Those should be taken care of better. One place I wouldn't mind a little bit of greenery, hardscaping, nice lighting, and benches. Do they light up at night? Those could use some emanating type of light, even if just around the bottom.

Well... you'll probably have to go to Scandinavia to photograph it!

... yes, I did.

Anyway, I love the updates on this building (and the others), Boston02124. Thanks!

I'll send you my address if u want to put one under my tree :) You are right though! A I did drop it in water

b I never read the directions,so I'm sure the settings are all wrong! and c most of my pixs are takeing while driving and thru office windows,I don't really try to get the best shot just a shot! thanks though!

Re: Atlantic Wharf (formerly Russia Wharf)

I propose we set up a PayPal account. Start up the "Get Boston02124 a brand new D-SLR and Photography Lessons for Christmas so we can have Prettier Pictures." Just my two cents, and perhaps I'll even put in $0.02 (I'm sorry, that was a terrible joke, but I had to try something).

Note: I am perfectly satisfied with the current photo updates. This is purely for the benefit of armpitsOFmight.

love the 1st and the 3rd ones. the grittiness is like some old photos from my early trips into the city in the late 70s w/a crap camera on 110 stock. cool texture, in a way.
