Boston Landing | New Balance Complex | Brighton

Re: New Brighton Landing | New Balance Complex

Detailed history of the Boston Tech Center building, before Harvard acquired it.

Also, a few years ago, an occasional poster on this board, knowledgeable about Harvard's plans for Allston, mentioned that Harvard and WBZ were in discussions about a land swap, WBZ building new studios at the Tech Center site, and Harvard acquiring WBZ's property on Soldiers Field Rd. Made sense because Harvard can make more integral use of the WBZ property than any of the property it owns along that stretch of Western Ave.

New Balance pays $10m to buy 2 more acres next to Brighton development project

By Matt Rocheleau, Boston.com Staff

New Balance has purchased another two acres of property next to where it recently began building a $500 million complex in Brighton.

To purchase 125 Guest St., the athletic apparel company paid about $10 million to William R. Joyce, Peter D. Joyce and Paul M. Hallisey, and the trustees of B.L.M. Realty Trust, according to state records of the deal that closed Jan. 31.

New Balance officials have said they expect to complete the six-phase project within about a four-year span.

The commuter rail station would open in 2014. The headquarters, sports complex and the hotel are expected to be completed by 2015. The office buildings are expected to be built by 2017.

Re: New Brighton Landing | New Balance Complex

They have been pouring concrete non stop the entire day. From the way the pump has been moving, I'm going to guess its the slab. Crane soon I can only hope!

Also, I'm surprised no one has mentioned yet, but they relocated the NB factory store to the old Grossmans building on N.Beacon and Market St. I thought there was going to be a development there?

Either way, it looks a lot better now. I can understand them wanting to move the store, the last time I went in there the place was a ghost town with all the construction going on, and rather difficult to get to as well. Now if someone would just reopen the diner across the street!

The crane is sitting in pieces at the northwest corner of the site. :)

Re: New Brighton Landing | New Balance Complex

Any progress yet on the commuter rail station? I haven't heard any official news about it recently.

Re: New Brighton Landing | New Balance Complex

the crane is up ;)

the crane is up ;)

This is what I get for sleeping in today. I literally just opened my curtains when I read this.

Missed my opportunity for "Woke up this morning to a giant erection" joke. Woe is me.

The lens on my camera seems to really flatten things out. This is what I'm looking at through my window. Its huge, and really fun to watch moving. Ignore all the... stuff, my girlfriend thinks shes five and has free reign in the bedroom for decor.

Check out how much it moved just as I was typing this!

This site needs moar bras!

Re: New Brighton Landing | New Balance Complex

So whimsical robots, stars and a hanging bra (perhaps a "D" cup by my estimation), I have to admit it's an intriguing and eclectic decorating style there.

There are also magazine cutouts, stickers, dvd covers, posters, and other stuff that offends my designer senses. But I love her, it makes her happy, and it makes me happy being reminded of her.

That being said, thank god my girlfriend hates that I'm on here and never reads =)

As for your guys guesstimating, lets just go with it. I would be a happy man...
