Boston Landing | New Balance Complex | Brighton

The struts are a strong gesture that add a lot of interest. The roof mechanical box though is poorly done and doesn't tie in to the building at all.

Very good critique, they should have used one of the three other facade materials to cover the mechanicals.

You never see it in normal everyday Boston life besides that one angle which is going to be blocked.

That last photo is oddly reminiscent of Boston City Hall, which is not a good thing. The wood-like base looks sloppy and temporary, adding to the mishmash of styles and materials.

Outside of the final touches to 40 Guest not much action at this site. I did notice that two of the retail bays in the Lantern are being fitted-out.

The understated signage of the Auerbach Center really makes that of the Bruins' place look doubly obnoxious.

i can't imagine they've abandoned the hotel project that will reach full occupancy the week it opens.

does anyone know?

That's a little strong isn't it? New Balance has chosen to play up the Warrior brand that it owns, alongside the brandin of its tenant, the Bruins, and so theres some bigger graphics on the Hockey facility. For people who love hockey, it is just more of what they love (and buy).

Why shouldn't this be somewhere between the Citgo Sign (a poke in the eye people come to love) and "to each his own"?

This is pretty huge. It may look bigger than it is but was maybe the soccer field able to fit here? If so that would have been great and I bet they could have used it for track and field as well. I have a feeling it wasnt big enough though even if they bought the property to the rear.

I've tried reaching out a number of times but have not gotten through to anyone. If anyone has a contact there who is responsive, let me know and I will try again.

It looks like this area is developing into an Olympic Village, future Olympics sponsored by NB?
