Boston Properties Office Tower | 888 Boylston Street | Back Bay

It'll only have about 17 floors, so it should be just over 200 feet tall.

According to the BRA website, it will be 242 feet tall. That is likely the zoning height (i.e., to the top of the last occupiable floor) so it is probably taller.

The trouble with Boston is that most of it's tall building are no taller than about 40 or so floors. I wish that it would build one that is at least 75 floors.

Call it 260 with everything included it's proximity to the water will probably make it look much taller. This comes out nicely with the addition of AE, LM and the Daltons we'll have a nice symmetry and maybe those ole red and brown structures will be left in the 70's...

The Boylston entrance is now closed until July 2:

Please be advised the Boylston Street entrance at Prudential Center is temporarily closed through July 2 due to construction. Please see alternate entrances below. We appreciate your patience as we make improvements. Thank you!

The nearest alternative entrance, not mentioned, is through the Mandarin hotel lobby - up the stairs and out into the new-ish "Newbury Arcade."

The Sheraton lobby is also a very useful alternative if coming from the T.

I don't think they can advertise entrances other than official Shops at Prudential Center entrances. The entrance they point out at Lord & Taylor is actually an elevator vestibule that leads to the Newbury Arcade (& the Green Level of the garage), not in Lord & Taylor itself. I'd assume the Mandarin similarly doesn't want the common folk traipsing through their lobby.

With the Boylston Street arcade entrance closed, they've started disassembling it.

And from inside the arcade.

Oh, I need to grab some pictures soon. The arcade looks wonderfully dreary right now.

Glad to hear steel's rising. Core looks to be at or slightly over halfway as well.

Walked by today - arcade completely disassembled - all that's left is the shell of the escalators.

I don't think this has been posted here yet...

I came across this design by Mikyoung Kim Design for the plaza portion of this project. From their website:

... Highlighting the wind patterns of the site, a series of stainless steel woven light columns define the plaza. Wind vains rotate on the light columns and signal the intensity of wind with changing color that indicate greater and lesser intensity, turning the plaza into a living wind diagram. All the lighting is powered by wind turbines that define the top of the Prudential Tower and highlight the sustainable nature of this project.

I recommend checking out their site as they seem to be designing the landscape portion of half the new large projects being built in the Boston area. Some Interesting stuff: http://myk-d.com/

Very nice street presence. Is that a roof deck between the back of 888 Boylston and the Prudential Tower?

The retractable roof deck at the Eataly in Manhattan is a pretty awesome space; would be nice to have that translated to Boston.
