Emerson College's Paramount Center

Re: BRA approves Emerson College's Paramount Center

What are you referring to, Ablarc? Anything in particular?

Re: BRA approves Emerson College's Paramount Center

Not a "green space" dog, but love the park and amphitheatre ideas. Pity it will be a parking lot for 20 more years. Bigger pity that the sweetheart developer who got the gift is keeping all the parking revenue!

Well, I think that text looks a bit Photoshopped (is there a word for when real life looks like computer graphics?) but I must say that it somehow works.

Re: Suffolk Dorms / Modern Theatre

Looks way less photoshopped than the cartoon cupola on the Charles Street Jail.

Love it, kinda. Boston finally discovered a way to respect/revere history without pastiche bricks & ivy!

Re: Suffolk Dorms / Modern Theatre

But that's not the Modern, it's the Paramount/Bijou project. Can someone move it to the more appropriate thread?

I would like it much better if it had "KEITH" in huge letters in honor of the late, great, theater owner, but I'll settle for less.

Re: BRA approves Emerson College's Paramount Center

That's actually Suffolk's project, the Paramount Center is essentially done, save for some interior work.

Re: BRA approves Emerson College's Paramount Center

How tall is this project supposed to be?

Whoops! Fixed.

Re: BRA approves Emerson College's Paramount Center

All this construction in these tiny, challenging, historically sensitive lots makes the emptiness of Hayward Place look like more of a joke every day.

Re: BRA approves Emerson College's Paramount Center

Just a note: I found out today that the silver Alucobond motif extends to the interior of the building. :(

Tour Paramount Center

The International Facilities Management Association (IFMA) Boston holds a presentation and tour of the Elkus Manfredi-designed Paramount Center at Emerson College on Thursday, November 12. Constructed by Bond Brothers, the multiuse project includes a black-box theater, seven performance studios, a restaurant and more. Registration begins at Bina Osteria (581 Washington Street, Boston) at 5:30 pm, with the tour starting at 6:15 pm.

Related?

Re: BRA approves Emerson College's Paramount Center

Damn, I'd love to take that tour, but I have a class on Thursday nights. If anyone else can go, I'd love to see a report here (and photos).

Is a more public grand opening ceremony scheduled yet?

Hell, Ron, what are you doing still taking classes?

You should be giving classes.
