Fan Pier Developments | Seaport

Looks like I'm going to have to bring my camera with me for lunch time walks in a couple months. This cold weather sure does let something like this sneak up, and all of a sudden there's 5 or 6 levels of core above grade.

Any project that has 4 tower cranes rolling at once (and when they're still primarily doing below grade work) is going to fly up.

For several million dollars of tower crane rental, the contractor means business.
 
^ The fact that they are all called "Drives" tells half the story.
 
It's funny that I went to the BRA a long time ago for a class trip, the person they had speak to us talked about how one building per block was a bad model for making vibrant streets.

Goose -- its all relative:
how big is the building and how long is the block, are all the blocks the same or are they varried
how wide is the street and -- what are the ground floor accesses, etc.

Thing the old New England Life Building on Bolyston and Newbury -- when it was just a unitized office monolith -- the Boylston side was not great but it was OK as the street is wide and there are a lot of large buildings -- the Newburry side was terrible especially in comparison to the proximate other side of the street which is much more varied and pedestrian friendly

When it was re-done into the Newbry -- a mix of office and retail with several entrances it improved -- especially on the Newburry side

Riff -- you've fallen back into the:

fire, ready, aim routine

Let's see how the SPID and Fan Pier and Vertex do over the next decade or so -- at that point we can ask how it tuned-out and did the taxpayers and others get a reasonable ROI

PS: -- I don't think the Superbowl should be played anywhere except an open air stadium in the south -- everything else is totally artificial

Both. I got a SLR a couple months back, but this latest batch of photos is the first with my new cam that I honestly feel good about. Before this set I thought the colors and contrast I was getting were a bit off, but I tweaked some settings last week and think I might finally have mastered my new baby.

Oh and thank you for your feedback, I really appreciate it!

Well it shows man...great looking shots here and in the other threads you've been posting in.

This core rose ridiculously quickly. I'm interested to see how it turns out.
