Fenway Infill and Small Developments

The old Elephant Walk at 900 Beacon was demoed this week. This guy to go up in its place. Earlier discussion up the thread right here.

How did that gap in the streetwall come to be in the first place? The taller buildings actually look like they predate the former Elephant Walk space...

Caught this from across Beacon

See? Is this too much to ask? Some nice curves, decent materials and just a touch of thought and creativity. Why is this so difficult to do elsewhere in the city?

After this, The Point, and the Burger King development, what else is left for this stretch? Wasn't there something behind Boylston West?

Nothing else that comes to mind on existing buildable land. The one big outstanding development - whether it will be realized or not - would be the air-rights build over the Mass Pike on Parcel 7.

GW, there is a 16-story (?) tower slated to break ground soon as a second phase to Van Ness (Boylston West). This will be located at the east corner of Brookline Ave and Kilmarnock Street on the rock garden and where Sal's Pizza is/was.

Agree. It is a 150 unit apartment building (132 Brookline Ave) approved as part of the Fenway Triangle proposal. The only question is when will it happen. They have been renovating the existing building for the past 6 months and I was informed that Wahlburgers is going into the renovated space.
