Four Seasons Tower @ CSC | 1 Dalton Street | Back Bay

This is one of the few places in the city that I will not shed a tear if there is no/minimal retail in the base. Its kind of tucked away off the beaten path. Now if it was on Boylston St. thats another story and its a must, but here its not a very big deal. Im just happy we are getting a new peak to the high spine that looks to be extremely high quality and tastefully done. All around great development now lets get above ground before this turns into the Chicago spire.

^^Holy Toledo... Afternoon "High Tea" for 70 Euros..That's about $80/US.
Where's Four Season's leasing agent? I'll take that space. I'll present an afternoon Boston latte special for only $70! (we like coffee here)

(That's Paris? I thought the tea sipping Downton Abbey types were in London?)
Regrettably, One Dalton is too small a site that they cannot replicate the Terrasse Montaigne at the Plaza Athenee, where, on a chilly April afternoon, you could indulge with a hot chocolate for 20 Euros.

Crane Base?

Interesting. The crane isn't where they planned it to be in Plan A or B:

(From the Construction Management Plan on http://1daltonconstruction.com)

I wonder if they moved it to amend concerns about it being at the corner of Dalton and Belvidere. It is the most busy corner of the site between traffic and hotel guests around it, so moving to the south corner arguably makes more sense... especially for staging, I would imagine.

Better than a parking lot. :D

Bos -- but a missed opportunity none the less -- the crane base should have been turned at at an angle to improve the pedestrian experience :D

BUT most importantly -- Is est a gruibus

Citius, Altius, Fortius

;)

Crane Base?

Uggghhh another red crane. Why are the biggest cranes always red? It's so unimaginative. This is the kind of crane that could be erected in any US city. Heck, they could put this crane up anywhere at all.

Are we trying to overbuild like NYC? Are we trying to be cookie-cutter ugly like Miami or Toronto? Are we trying to copy-cat a lesser city like Charlotte, which recently used a crane to construct a building? This is getting ridiculous. We're supposed to be better than that. Boston has no standards, and no shame.

DZH22 -- I agree -- let's require all building that can't be done directly from a lift from the ground with a ground based crane to

Use a fleet of construction drones :p
