Re: Millennium Tower - Filene's

I wouldn't consider Atlantic Wharf a skyscraper. A high-rise at best, it doesn't even break through 400 ft and is shorter than the Harbor Towers.

Honestly, I don't consider either to be skyscrapers. I still consider State Street Financial Center to be the newest skyscraper in the city - now 10 years old!

I call Atlantic Wharf and 33 Arch high-rises, but that's just me.

Re: Millennium Tower - Filene's

If it is under 400', I personally don't consider it a skyscraper.
As far as everything going on, I want to get excited...I really, really do.
I'll get excited when I see piles being driven into the ground and steel rising.

Re: Millennium Tower - Filene's

According to the Merriam-Webster Concise Dictionary a Skyscraper is a "Very tall multistoried building. The term originally applied to buildings of 10–20 stories, but now generally describes high-rises of more than 40–50 stories." Whereas a high-rise is a "Multistory building taller than the maximum height people are willing to walk up, thus requiring vertical mechanical transportation."

If I recall, didn't you do something similar to this in the SST thread last year?

Don't leave us hanging man!!!

Re: Millennium Tower - Filene's

A building isn't considered a skyscraper until it reaches 495 feet.
