Nice pic! I notice there's double spandrel between the residential floors. Going to take a few more floors of cladding to get a really good idea how the resi part will look. So far from what I've seen in person and in pictures, it's going to look pretty nice!

I really don't see them finishing this in time for summer 2016, unless they speed it up dramatically when the snow stops.

Are they promising occupancy next summer? All I have seen is "2016". Even at a bit less than a floor per week average (assuming they increase to closer to 1.5 floors per week during peak construction), wouldn't the building be "topped off" around January/February of next year? That would give them as long as 10-11 months to substantially finish the skin and interior so it is suitable for occupancy late next year. Sounds mighty ambitious but possible.

As far as I've heard they didn't put any exact month on it, but I believe they promised occupancy at the end of summer 2016. I might be wrong though.

Go to the Millenium Tower site there are a number of videos with views of and from the tower and two other highlights:

  • Daniel Burnham and the Filenes Building -- now renamed officially the Burnhham Building

  • an interview with the principal architect
    The Architect Behind the Evolution
Millennium Tower Boston was designed by Blake Middleton FAIA, a Founding Partner of New York-based Handel Architects. Born and raised in the Boston area, he speaks of his attachment to the project, his vision for the property and his love of the city that inspired it......
Finally, in only a few words, how would you describe the Tower project?
Elegant, significant, and achieving a new level of urban vitality. A vertical gem in a gem of a city.

This is starting to really pop. I was walking on Frankllin St. yesterday afternoon, heading to Arch, when suddenly the building reared up in front of me. It already dominates the view the moment you come around the curve. I was actually stunned, and had to remind myself what I was looking at, because it looks so tall even now.

Given that the tower is being constructed mainly from rebar concrete floors and support columns, it seems to be rising pretty fast.

It is usually steel framed towers that go up in almost record time. And the other thing that seems amazing is that the façade is rising almost as fast as the concrete "bones" of the tower!

Crappy cell phone pic from this afternoon. Clearly a different treatment for this section of glass.

Hmph. Well there's the second sample of glass. Could be interesting. I like the varying widths.

Could it be because of who the tenant in that section will be? Just wondering if anyone knows more about this.
