I agree; it does look cheap. I'm getting sick of that look on so many buildings going up.

I tend to hate using this phrase, but I'll say that it does look better in-person. It's a seemingly high-quality material, despite the bleh tan color. Meanwhile, I'm pretty sure that both the color and the highly regular window grid are riffing off of One Broadway next door. My opinion is that the ground level will help make this work, since it's a separate curtainwall there (but I really wish the whole podium was spare the tan facade).

It doesn't look damaged, and there's a person way up in bp7's photo, so they probably cleared it. I'd probably be taking a good look at them if I were them though.
