Northeastern eyes dorms

It was a semi-satirical comment on Northeastern's expansion on the Roxbury side of the Orange Line and if they keep going as they are, it'll eventually be:

Roxbury -- A Neighborhood of Northeastern University.

Like how Brighton-Allston are sort of like suburbs of BU.

The post that this was a response to was deleted :x

No it wasn't.

\/ I thought you were accusing me of deleting your post, but I seem to have no idea what I was talking about. \/

What are you stating "no it wasn't" to?

If it's about my "The post that this was a response to was deleted" statement, then there was a post between my double post asking what it was I meant by Northeastern annexing Roxbury.

Now if you mean about Allston/Brighton, then that is what it seemed like from my POV.

Two days ago, a much nicer day.

Excellent! Looks pretty impressive from that angle.

Big building!

Thanks for the update. I hate when its slow around here...

Thanks!

on the west tower (the one on the right) - they are building the floor for the 17th story (or the roof of the 16th story, if you prefer). Both towers are supposed to be 22 stories tall -- so I quickly photoshopped what it might look like when they top it off:

As Tom of Boston has pointed out, my floor counts are wrong, so the above "picture" is moot anyway.

I believe one tower is to be 23 stories and the other tower 19 stories, not sure which is which.

From a visual count from the renderings on page 8, it looks as though the tower on the right in my pictures will be 19 stories, and the tower on the left in my pictures will be 22.

Here's a picture from a couple of seconds ago -- it's a pretty glum day outside but you get the idea. I was excited to take a picture because I just returned home from the weekend away, and they topped off the west tower (right) at 19 flights.

Had they chosen to go even 10 floors higher this would have been a nice beacon for Northeastern down Columbus.

hi. new to the board (well, first post anyway). is that dark brown colored material the facade? if so, looks like they wont be using that terrible white precast crap. i can only hope

They put much much more if it on today, but I didnt take a picture because the visibility was terrible due to the snow. I don't *think* it's the actual facade, and I do think they are still going to go with the terrible white precast...

we'll see

Welcome to the board :)

Terrible lighting, but I wanted everyone to see the progress of the outside

Are they going to do anything with the roof? It seems like a great place for the architecture students to try designing green roofs.

They won't as long as the program directs its research towards Home Depots, gas stations, and spec office buildings. /mentoring a graduate student
