Downtown Boston

Sorry, Menino. Tall buildings directly on the water are awesome. I love how buildings like the Chicago Spire and OFC in Hong Kong serve as urban masts - punctuating the city from the water's edge.

I'm no fan of this "waterfront buildings should step back" mantra that has infected the BRA lately. It's just another case of bad, bad groupthink.

Is International Place really that bad? I like how people who don't care about architecture all love it, while architecture nerds hate it.

I love how that shot turned out. We used John Horner for these shots. This is from the roof of Seaport West (formerly named the World Trade Center West) - this shot is great because it shows the Pru through the Zakim. And especially love it because of the 160 Federal Street golden crown shows nicely, along with the Custom House.

More from my room since I rarely get into the city any more... I've perfected the technique of holding binoculars up to my camera so I can get really zoomed in shots like this one:

Very cool - I've tried that same technique before with limited success.

Yeah, probably the only reason why I've gotten it to work is that I use my desk to stabilize both of them. It just took some time to find the right objects that allow for them to be trained directly on the Pru.

I think I've said this before I have the same view only from the other side in Dorchester, nice!

Nice - get out your binoculars, I wanna see the view!

This might be the best one yet... there were literally ribbons of golden colors all throughout the sky.

Hahaha just saw that on Tosh.0 last week. Don't worry, I haven't gone off the deep end just yet.
