Pierce Boston (née The Point )| Boylston St/Brookline Av | Fenway

Screen shot from just now, Saturday 9/17. They are finishing up with 19. The first fully visible floor on the bottom right is 4. 16 to the top of the visible concrete, with 3 more behind the yellow/orange mesh.

^ As mentioned before in the thread (but emphasized by DZH22's great new distance shots), this is going to be a prominent extension of the Boston skyline!

looks like they're up to 19 levels....

I literally told everybody exactly how to count via the webcam in Post 549, including the mention that it was finishing up floor 19. First fully visible floor on the bottom right of the webcam is 4. In fact, I post this on pretty much every page, and yet we still have either people counting wrong based on the pictures (whighlander) or else complete redundancy. Here's a fun fact: THE WEBCAM IS UP TO DATE!

With that said, they're pushing into 20, as of today. I have the webcam page zoomed in to 300% for clarity, since the full-screen option doesn't work correctly.

Your (amazing) photo efforts largely go unsung. When i click on the thread, i sometimes scroll straight to the bottom and work my way up. ....i stopped near the top of post #550 not even noticing there was 1 more pic (at post 549)... and probably the best one of the lot.

The thing of it is, this regrettable oversight is all too likely to happen again.

btw, how far up the VFW can you spot the level of the cranes where this will top out?

549 is just a screen shot from the Webcam, blown up to 300%. The most important information is that the first fully visible floor on the bottom right is 4. You can actually barely make out part of 3 below, depending on the time of day. But knowing that it starts at 4 allows you (anybody) to figure out the current floor without having to wait for updates. It's a very useful tool for tracking this project.

I dont understand the photos being too big thing, it takes a second on my devices buts not really much of a problem. Do people have 15 year old computers theyre working off?

The image posted above was 12 megs. When there is a post with five or ten of these images, on top of other posts on the page with images, and the page is not cached, the page will load slow. And not everyone is getting 4 or 5 bars on their smartphone while they browse archboston..

Stellarfun -- Maybe there needs to be a mobile-friendly version of these pages for the browse while you are at the physical site in question

AND the traditional pages compatible with FIOS or Xfinity, etc, for when you are contemplating things on your high res wide screen after a long day doing whatever

This is after all all Fundamentally a forum about how things are Perceived Visually -- aka Architecture, along with Painting and Sculpture is primarily a visual art

Can someone please tell me that white column isn't staying right?

I always felt the renderings did an incredible job of making this huge, flat, wide, ugly building look really slim, cool and interesting.

The Hancock is a huge flat wide building. I'll wait until this is finished to have an opinion on the design.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say it will probably look awesome from some angles and less so from others?

It's not complete yet so I could be wrong but just a hunch.

just a bright, shining beacon of positivity, aren't you?
