Pierce Boston (née The Point )| Boylston St/Brookline Av | Fenway

I always felt the renderings did an incredible job of making this huge, flat, wide, ugly building look really slim, cool and interesting.

I agree, great sell job by the PR people, it feels like and may be the case that we never saw any of the side renders. That being said I'm in favor of this development for sure its gonna change the feel of the area entirely

We'll see - I think there's been a lot of excitement and hope that this would be "Boston's modern day flatiron building" with a thin, spiky point, tapering to something really special... but the shape and massing is MUCH more Waterside Place than what the renderings depict. I actually really like this building and think the materials and finishing touches will make all the difference here. My comment was about the massing/shape. It's just a big/wide/flat building like Waterside, fanciful virtual artistic representations aside.

Approximate measures:
Waterside Place: 90m wide x 20 stories (76m) tall = 0.84 height-to-width ratio
Pierce Boston: 75m wide, 30 stories (115m) tall = 1.53 height-to-width ratio

For purposes of comparison, the Flatiron Building is 190 feet wide on its widest side and 307 feet tall for a 1.62 height-to-width ratio. Its less about how wide it is and more about what you do with it. I'm still very optimistic that this will be a successful, iconic building for the area.

I believe render 2 is before the height increase.

^Get rid of that horrific gas station sign and you've got yourself a beautiful neighborhood.

I wish they could change the CITGO letters to be "BOSTON" or "FENWAY", but i imagine that could be thought as violating it as a landmark. Not too mention, CITGO would probably put up a big fight against losing the free advertising and appropriation of its trademark.

Most of us who grew up with the CITGO sign don't want to see it change. Or disappear.

Get rid of that horrific gas station sign and you've got yourself a beautiful neighborhood.

Out of all of the people that have said they wished the CITGO sign would come down, you're the first.

I would gather a bunch of people to fight the removal of the Citgo sign, it is one of the fondest memories of my childhood. It meant we were almost to Fenway.

A few notes:

- $2.9M ask
- 3br/2.5ba
- 1850 sqft
- Southwest exposure (no Back Bay views)

At $1,560/sqft this blows out pretty much every unit in Fenway and many in Back Bay, despite its size. It'll be really interesting to see what it ends up going for. Also interesting that it states the year built as 2018.
