I used to be for the demolition of this building but the fact that it could have been saved had the Mayor and Kairos Shen not stuck their nose in it, this is an incredible tragedy.

It's disappointing. not every building has to be iconic (or would be if it tried.) and bland boxes in their background have a place, but the fact that they actively hollowed out an vibrant, purposeful design is terrible.

Well. That sure is depressing.
It makes you wonder if the "Mad Men" craze is making its way into architecture and urban planning. Should we next expect the North End to be leveled for a highway and 3 or 4 Modernist, right-angles-and-concrete housing projects surrounded by grassy dead zones?
