Re: 120 Kingston, 29 Story Tower in Chinatown

Well, shit. There you have it. Forget the replica of the London ferris wheel or a carousel. People have been talking about how Boston "needs" an attraction. A giant effing slide!

Re: 120 Kingston, 29 Story Tower in Chinatown

Can you imagine how dizzy you'd be by the time you descend 300 feet worth of spiraling? Better get the puke buckets ready!

Re: 120 Kingston, 29 Story Tower in Chinatown

Walked by this site yesterday. There were two flatbead trucks in the site containing structural steel. I would have thought we would have seen the first steel columns today (3/8), but I'll assume because of the snow, we'll have to wait until next week.

Re: 120 Kingston, 29 Story Tower in Chinatown

^After a few drinks, they look pretty good.

But seriously, they look fine by me.

Re: 120 Kingston, 29 Story Tower in Chinatown

Forget the Toyota, I see STEEL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: 120 Kingston, 29 Story Tower in Chinatown

Interesting pic. Anyone know what building was there that left that imprint (on the right) on the wall?

Those 2 1 stories would make a good redevelopment.

Re: 120 Kingston, 29 Story Tower in Chinatown

Sweet. Above ground parking garage ramps.

Barf. Good thing the city asked the developer to ruin a beautiful historic building to accommodate this - parking garages are much less "iconic" than was the Dainty Dot.

There are few urban planning practices more offensive than the building-pedestal-as-parking-garage. Chicago is full of them ... which, along with the abundance of surface lots in the Windy City, is one of the main reasons I prefer East Coast cities to Chicago.

Re: 120 Kingston, 29 Story Tower in Chinatown

From yesterday. I love how close one's able to get to the site from the Chinatown park.

Re: 120 Kingston, 29 Story Tower in Chinatown

Great pics DB! I'm really excited about this one going up.

Re: 120 Kingston, 29 Story Tower in Chinatown

And to think all that park frontage is going to be a giant blank wall. =/

My understanding was that the park frontage was going to be turned into a restaurant with an outdoor dining space. At least, that is what is reflecting in the renderings

Re: 120 Kingston, 29 Story Tower in Chinatown

According to this rendering it looks to be a blank wall, which is hiding the parking garage.

Yup, that would be the wall. Thanks, BeeLine.
