The Benjamin & VIA (née One Seaport Square) | Parcels B-C@Seaport Sq. | Seaport

Nice progress on this one, thanks for the update. I don't remember many past projects where there were three cranes on the site.

Vertex had four didn't it?

Faster! Faster!

On the heels of the 3-year closure controversy at North Station, I'm curious to see when and for how long (if at all) they'll be closing the lightly used Silver Line head house for its relocation into the eastern building.

If they are going to relocate it, it's not going to happen for at least another year or two, until after Yotel is finished. Doing it any earlier would force the MBTA to close the station.

One of these developments is also supposed to build an entrance at the eastern end of the station mezzanine. Is it B+C?

With MT and Avalon Bay @ TD Garden topping out and most of everything else either just starting to dig or prepare the site -- It looks as though until late next spring that Seaport / Innovation District is going to be the hotbed for BIG Construction

It's really weird to see the seaport finally filling in after all these years of being a barren wasteland. I probably won't like the finished product but whatever

Somebody please plant a tree on seaport blvd

^That median is dying for a revamp

Re: One Seaport Square | Parcels B-C@Seaport Sq. | Seaport

I think trees are planned to be added after each project is finished so once this and the projects on the other side are done I believe there will be trees.

Re: One Seaport Square | Parcels B-C@Seaport Sq. | Seaport

It's funny to me that there is so much dislike and criticism of the development in the Seaport. I understand in the sense that many are purely upset with the architecture chosen (or lack thereof). However, as a "millennial', I will tell you that everyone I've talked to couldn't be more excited and bullish on the ongoing development. Sure rents are high, but if you think for one second that millennials aren't going to jump all over these buildings, you are mistaken. Seaport Square has already begun sending out pre-leasing emails for their two towers and even have leasing agents directly follow up with any inquiries. 100 Pier 4 is at over 96% right now.

It seems some should focus on how the finished product will come together and stop being so obsessed with a missing street light or missing tree in the middle of development, especially in the winter. The Seaport now is a shell of what it is going to look like in late 2017/2018.

^+1

I am also a "millennial and overall I am optimistic about the finished product. The architecture isn't amazing, but the street level activation looks like overall it will be very good. I really think that at this point judging the seaport for not being great is like tasting a cake that is half baked and saying it is gross and poorly made. I will wait to make a final judgement till people are actually living there and a good portion of the development is finished.
