Do we see an East Boston harbor mini-boom once the seaport is filled in?

Last I checked there are nearly 2,000 new units going up in Eastie during the next few years. Add to that the ~500 that have been built since 2010 (conservative estimate), and it looks like Eastie's housing inventory will increase by 17% or more by 2020.

So by Boston standards, I'd say that East Boston is already experiencing a boom/mini-boom.

Re: Multi-use project | 6 New Street | East Boston

I don't think we're looking at a Hoboken style build up over there ... at least not with that profile expectation.

Re: Multi-use project | 6 New Street | East Boston

What's multi-use about this project? Is this not just housing?

There'll be a ground floor restaurant... I guess technically that's all it takes to make something "multi-use".

Re: Multi-use project | 6 New Street | East Boston

it's so irritating that the only reason we actually get a building this tall here is because there was already a tall building there. why cant we just decide to zone the whole area this height? argh
