The Hub on Causeway (née TD Garden Towers) | 80 Causeway Street | West End

In the second rendering... where is the school and why are they warning pedestrians that there is a school zone ahead?

Thats not a shool zone warning, I think it's just a people walking warning. School zone signs say "School zone"

I know this has nothing to do with the towers, but, yes, that is indeed a school cross-walk sign. It is also facing the wrong way, I'd say: it's warning the pedestrians in the crosswalk about themselves, as opposed to warning drivers.

Lol thank you! It's on par with renderings that show odd pavement markings, as if they've never seen a basic yellow centerline before.

It's a warning that anyone coming to play the Bruins or Celtics is about to get schooled :)

I don't know for sure but if I had to guess, I would say we start to see it rise out of the ground in June or July

Thanks. It seems like they've already begun on some of the beams and pillars.

Glad someone else noticed this! Those are S-series (S1-1 to be exact) for use in school zones (hence the pentagonal shape) vs. W-series (W11-2) pedestrian crossing signs, which are diamond shaped and meant for use in typical crosswalks.

If you look at the Webcam, you can see that this project is still very much in the digging phase, though there are some signs this stage is almost complete.

As you can see, they appear to have bottomed out on the left side of the site and there does seem to be some markings being painted out. There also seems to be some sort of foundation activity on the right side of the site.

theres a lot of transportation engineering inaccuracies in that, and almost every render.
the 'ADA' ramp, the bike racks, the crosswalk line widths, the lack of pavement markings for the lanes, etc.
Lets be happy the cars are facing the correct direction.
It is an extra level of funny though that they purposely put in that sign probably thinking they making it more realistic.

Those beams you see are supporting the walls during during excavation. Similar to the Millennium Tower excavation. They have a specific name, which escaples me. DataDyne knows

Usually just called "bracing" or "bracing struts"

Whew! S1-1 vs W11-2! I totally want to be on your team at the next MUTCD meetup/trivia night ;-)

My favorite is W11-19. Given how arbitrary some of the shit in these renders is, I wouldn't be surprised if we saw one of those in there : )

I never knew there was such thing as a road sign enthusiast.

Anybody have any pictures?.... Been a while

Check out the webcam link in post 1642. There are actually a few webcams in there to click into. Regarding this project, it just doesn't have enough going on to keep posting pics! Maybe in a few more months.
