The Hub on Causeway (née TD Garden Towers) | 80 Causeway Street | West End

Are there plans to update this part of the station? That drop ceiling and floor tiles are pretty gross. Not quite the "so gross its cool" like the Port Authority. To go from the new space to this area will be quite a "transition".

They also said the seats are to the league standard for the other arenas, they didnt create their own arrangement, so who knows if its a big problem or not. Im sure theres less room than there was, but if theyre being truthful its no less than other new arenas.... which Im sure is the baaaare minimum an avg human can tolerate, but no less here than other arenas.

I've had season tickets in the balcony for 22 years. My seats are noticeably narrower and taller, as they added a seat to my row. Legroom has been reduced to the point that people will be tripping and falling into the rows below, alongwith taller people knocking into people in front of them. The feedback I've seen based solely on the preseason is that the vast majority of patrons are not the least bit happy right now.

Im sure it is, I was just pointing out that they said it is at league standards for the other new stadiums... which I am sure in a ploy to make more money, is very tight... but that being said its no less than others of similar vintage, which in that case means the others are tight as well. Hopefully they change it, but I dont see it happening.

I've only been a season ticket holder for 3 years and the changes suck. The seats were in place in my section for the C's playoffs last year and it's now impossible to not be in physical contact with the person next to you. It was merely "difficult" to accomplish this before.

The residential tower has some type of metal screen in the notch now, not sure what thats about.

Nice pics. In the first few it shows that they are finally adding the steel to the top of the Bulfinch residential!

It actually used to be kind of weird how from 93 southbound you could see the whole city but then once you got to the Zakim it was all blocked and it looked like the bridge was entering Lowell, but definitely not anymore.

This is probably a moronic question, but are there air rights above these North Station tracks? Similar to South Station?

Anything and everything is for sale in theory. I don't know of an engineering reason to exclude the North Station platforms from an air rights project, but as far as I know, there are no concrete proposals or even any studies.

Do you mean the stretch of exposed tracks between the Leverett Connector and the Garden, or the tracks in station that sits under the Garden? The support columns for an air rights project would have to go through the arena, no?

There's no real technical problem, but the surface parking lot directly adjacent to the tracks is 10x more desirable to redevelop, and land values haven't risen enough near NS to justify air rights. But that parking lot is a huge missed opportunity to create a new mini-neighborhood
