I have heard that's going to be a standard-issue Walgreens (in contrast to the "emporium" at the old Borders space). We shall see.

In Norway yes. They're a novelty for tourists and drunk young people. Seems perfect for Faneuil Hall.
 
Maybe. How many of the young people who aren't tourists are going to go back a second time though.

Just think of the 50,000+ college students that turn 21 in this city every year. Even if only 1% of them decide it'll be "Cool" to go to the Ice Bar with their friends for their first legal trip to the bar, that's still a steady/reliable source of income to keep them open during the non-tourist seasons.
 
I'm just concerned about the fact that it is on the 3rd floor of Marketplace Center, which is accessible only by elevator. There's no stairs besides the fire stairs that go up there.

We've been hearing the construction above us for weeks. We've even had people in our stockroom working on all the extensive plumbing underneath the floor of the bar.

So they're making it one of those "secret bars" like Saloon in Davis, Back Bar in Union or Brick and Mortar in Central?
 
Yesterday I walked by the "Mega" Walgreens going into the old Borders space in Downtown Crossing. I was able to catch a glimpse inside through an open door on School St. I was shocked at how much work is still left to be done. Unless construction starts going at warp speed, this won't open until summer at the earliest. A year to build out a drug store? That has to be a record of some kind.

it's the same guy who building avalon exeter. He only works here on the weekends.

I thought that was the same guy who was working on the Alford St Bridge on weekends? Or maybe he works on the bridge on holidays only (seems like it)...
