Can you tell I love this one? So glad I'm living right by it now.

I have to walk by this fairly often, and each time I see it I like it a little more. It's so inventive and different.

The orange panels strongly remind me of weathering steel, which is a material I'd love to see more of in Boston. Are there even any structures that use it in town?

Gorgeous stuff, kz.

Mission Main is just awful as are so many of the federal "Hope" public housing rebuilds. There may be less crime but urbanity was rejected in favor of a quaint villagey theme park. What will the cost be in 20 years of replacing the roofs and the siding and all the poor material choices made in the name of "charm" and "character" not just here but all over the country?

You could tear down the whole project without too much cost, on the bright side.

Imagine that entire area fill with actual mixed development, with some considerations for maintaining the community. Take one of those blocks, and commit the entire ground floor to a new location for Fuentes Market, for example (something of an anchor for the community, at least when I had business with them) and that store could sure use the extra space. The whole thing could be part of a major plan to rejuvenate Roxbury Crossing.

But I'm in danger of starting a tangent.

I really have fallen in love with this building.

It isn't the most innovative building in the world, but it is the presentation and the "voice" it has, saying, "I have arrived and I will not be silenced."

Brad -- Please Re-read your post "There may be less crime but urbanity was rejected in favor of..."

The essence of the failure of the original Urban --moderne-slum was that Crime was not considered when the Mega Failures such as Pruit Igo and the rest were unleashed.

Especially with single, "non-stay-at-home-moms" the Urban, highrises were breeding grounds for gangs

What is needed is less density, more places for kids to play close to the residences and hopefully more adult supervision

God, Kz, you caught, in this latest batch of pics, the very essence of what makes this building one of my absolute favorite buildings in all of Boston, old or new!! She's stunning and you shot her perfectly!
