This is a fabric building. Its not great, its not horrible. It will be built, occupied, loved by its occupants, and life will go on.

^It's pretty horrible. The precast is already staining and the facade is not even complete. It's going to age TERRIBLY.

I agree with cca i do not think this is quite as bad as people think and of course the panels are already staining some of them are textured and this was built next to a highway so all the particles from car exhaust are going to love to cling on to those panels but i think this could potentially look really quirky and interesting.

This one is shaping-up to be a blight. It's simply a bad project.
It's a soulless slab that comes off as a poor imitation of its older neighbors across the street. Buildings that were mediocre when they were built and are now simply mediocre and dated. This one follows suit and defies good taste.
The best we can hope for is that in the decades to come, it will somehow manage to become as beloved and appreciated as the West End towers.

It is horrible, and actually manages to be worse than Marina Park Drive. I don't think it's as bad as the Renaissance and the Park Lane buildings though.

It really is awful. I've even moderated my opinion on the Kensington. I don't see this project being so lucky.

I'm not sure how visible it is here but the bottom portion of the base appears to be some stucco-y sort of garbage that loves to get dirty. This project truly is a blight.

No way. This is 1000x worse than the Renaissance and Park Ln. The Ren at least has curves (and designed in a way to make the building seem more curved than it actually is on the Congress side) and some neon. Park Ln also has some facade depth with window bays that pop out.

Very good points. I think the ground floor of Waterside Place might end up being better than the Ren and Park Ln though. I'll have to wait until this is done to decide.

Looks like a white precast version of those red brick public housing turned condo hi-rises over by Alewife. So many of these buildings in NYC. Yuck.

It's really a shame too, because I like the massing a lot. It's narrow, has some interesting stuff going on up top, and actually engages the street well. But then they threw up what looks like insulation board and absolutely destroyed it. Even something as simple as double height windows, ala 319 A st rear would have made a world of difference. Maybe we will get lucky in 20 years with a recladding.

It's the Renaissance, but the rooms are oriented mainly toward the street and the Park Ln courtyard because the Park Lane actually blocks most of the lower views. Notice that once the Renaissance clears the top of the Park Lane, the windows begin. That picture is deceiving because it looks like the Ren is next to the Park Lane, when it is really square-in-line with it.
