Allston-Brighton Infill and Small Developments

So mobile homes stacked on-top of each other!! A vertical trailer park!

It's been done before on smaller buildings. This block on condos in North Cambridge was delivered in pieces to the Mall parking lot, prepped for assembly, then brought down New St. on a wide-load trailer with a crane waiting onsite to lift the pieces into place. I watched the whole thing go up in a matter of a few weeks in 2012 from my normal walking route. Started late-Spring...interiors all finished and leasing by Fall.

I believe this is what I ask asking about the other day. Is this right after new balance coming into the city? The floor plate on this is MASSIVE, like as long as the cruise ship building.

Check out the first two photos in item #1338 this thread.

The development next to the pike by new balance. Its modular so everytime I pass this it grows a substantial amount. Not sure how tall theyre going but its going to be almost as long as the nb hq. This feels like it came out of nowhere for how huge its going to be. Really going to add some more density to the already expanding area.

Agreed. I don't remember ever seeing the PNF or renderings of this one on AB. Here it is:

Doesn't look unpleasant if the faux-paneling is high-quality. Also, there seems to be some sort of frieze above the door. Don't think I've ever seen a feature like that on a landscraper apartment building before...

Scaffolding going pretty high at 30 Penniman

PNF filed for 212-214 Market Street, 5 stories

29 units, 19 are 2BR with five 1BR and five 3BR

1,045 SF commercial first floor

Oddly shaped lot makes it seem they couldn't buy out 218 Market aka Brighton House of Pizza, which will make for a strange neighbor. They show it as a ghost in all the renderings, which is slightly creepy.
