Next time you’re up there, pay a visit to the chapel in the nursing home across the street; it’s one of the best modern sacred spaces in the city.

I think we actually may have had something like that going prior to the first site-crash in 2006.

Quick back of the napkin list: Saarinen's MIT Chapel, Safdie's (similarly realized) Harvard Business School Chapel, Temple Israel (on the Riverway), Rudolph's First Church (on Marlboro Street), and Belluschi's First Lutheran Church (across Berkley Street from the aforementioned Rudolph).

I'm going to see if I can snag some current photos, but I love the chapel at the Lindeman: https://mw.smugmug.com/Architecture/Lindemann-Mental-Health-Center/i-ZhScwR7 (Chapel photos are between 1/3 and 1/2 way down the page). Needs work last time i saw it, but still a great room.

I noticed they recently--finally!--spiffed-up there billboard at the corner of Rte 1A & Boardman that advertises the Madonna Shrine.

Also, I actually did a grad-school paper on these guys. It's a fascinating story: although the nursing home across the street is the nominal owner & thus technically responsible for keeping tourists to the shrine properly oriented, they obviously have their hands full being, well... a nursing home. Operating as a tourist center to direct any visitors to the shrine itself is very very low on the nursing home's list of priorities. Thus, the Shrine perpetually suffers for lack of true dedicated staff. You just wander in there, gape at the amazing views of Logan, and wander out. (Although I noted they have no problem filling out their subterannean rec room for quinceanera parties, a smart long-term play given the huge adjacent Hispanic population...)

NOTE: this was in 2008. Things may have changed, although I doubt it. Folks can correct me, of course.

NOTE2: meant to point out: the story of the sculptor of the Madonna statue is amazing. He was an Italian Jew who was protected by this particular Italian Catholic monastic order from the SS during World War II. In gratitude, he carved the statue and had it shipped over. You can't make this stuff up.

Arrigo Minerbi lived a difficult but rich life. I wonder if he knew Bruno Zevi, a Taliesin apprentice who returned to Italy to fight the fascists.
 
This project may have its (many) worts, but I actually really dig this section's multistory windows' homage to the old Boston Garden:
