^^^ This is coming out a little thinner than I first thought, especially once the scaffolding seen on the left from this perspective comes down.

Wow never noticed that brick building with the green roof before with all the landscaping in front. What a turd. That and the hurley building, ... then the whole west end, this whole area is turd city.

A Graham Gund redo of a previously gross building. The park is owned by the Archdiocese of Boston. In the heady days of redevelopment it was supposed to be the location for a workers' chapel, the architecture of which looked much like a subway head-house. No financing was available and so a bust of Richard Cardinal Cushing, the originator of the chapel idea, sits at the center of the park, which actually serves a lovely purpose as a respite in the city.

That little green roofed building is probably prime candidate for demo in the next 20 to 30 years. It's not architecturally signifigant in any way and is sitting on some pretty prime real estate, especially once all the other towers are up around it. I'll be shocked if it makes it to 2050.

I heard a somewhat credible rumor that the city building behind this on Hawkins st may be up for redevelopment at some point. Not too sure because I think the shelter may be attached to this parcel.
