Avalon North Station | Nashua Street Residences | West End

I want to know when this thing gets lit up. Between this and the converse lighting we're going to have a really cool gateway at night.

In the top photo Boston's photo thread, is that a concrete wall separating the street from the Government Service Center...and then the building is surrounded by another wall and chain link closer in??? Are you kidding me? Will someone please call in the bulldozers?? Sorry for getting off track, but even the way that damn building meets the street sucks. BTW, I do love the Avalon though I wish it had slightly more glass. Hoping for great night lighting as well.

Are you sure they're not just redoing the plaza? If you look at the May Google image, the pavement is dirtier and has a different pattern. Not that that makes the SSC better, but...

^ The outer concrete wall along New Chardon deals with the (significant) grade separation between the street and the Government Service Center's street level. The chain link fences around all the interior walls are because the original concrete walls aren't high enough to meet current code.

They've been redoing Staniford St for a while (adding a separated bike lane). There's been no work on the plaza other than random ad hoc concrete patches.

This tower has started leasing. Rents start at 2270 a month for a studio with one month free as a promotional. I can't wait to start to see this thing light up, Boston needs more apartment towers like this.

Are they planning to finish the install of the.....

Geebus. :banghead:

That's actually pretty reasonable in Boston for new construction.
