I like it. It's not just a boring glass box, it's something different. More developers should try to push the envelope like this. It could be higher but height isn't everything.

Love it! It is asymmetrical, to boot. And after a lifetime of symmetry, I welcome asymmetry. The height is fine: it's different. Booyah.

reading the pnf now

here are some early takeaways
- breaks ground mid 2017
- 26 story building just west of the station, reconstructed gagrage
- 28 story building on the east of the station
- 34 story building over current ventilation towers
- some ground floor retail
- pelli designed
- tons of retail in/surrounding the station

I like it, vast improvement over the garage....especially at street level. It will come together even better when columbus center comes back from the dead as well. Overall I'm impressed.

The designs are really cool but I'm disappointed with the scale. The tallest building here looks like it's barely 400'. That's only half the Hancock next door! This site called for more. This looks more like an incredible project for Kendall Square, not for the current location.

Yeah, I like the multi-angle tower, but the residential both could've gone taller without upsetting the balance of the site. We're plateau-ing again with this, 40 Trinity, and the new Hancock building. Too bad. Build everything that's not the residential towers and then redesign!

I think the scale is actually pretty good because there was a low rise gap in this part of the skyline that the rest of the back bay had and these will extend it and the copley tower will add a new peak.

Copley Place will be literally across the street. I think we'll be okay.

This isn't the worst building that could be put here, and it is of course better than a garage; however, this building is uninspired and far too short for this location.

In 5-8 years, Stuart Street will have the coolest spine in the city by far. Awesome work here. I am pumped.

To the height complainers: your best bet is the Dalton Garage. That could easily go to 1000'

+1

Also, I noticed in the base scheme that there is a new garage exit out onto Dartmouth Street vs. the "Alternate" scheme that keeps the garage exit internal and out onto Trinity Place. I prefer a plan to block any net increases in vehicular ROW at this site.

On a similar note, I noticed there's an alternate possibility of closing the I-90 Westbound entrance ramp from Clarendon Street. In a similar vain to my previous statement, I think it would be really, really amazing if they could convert this to an I-90 westbound EXIT ramp onto Trinity Place. Right now if you're coming from points east of Back Bay (I-93, Seaport, Logan/East Boston), you cannot exit the Pike until you hit Allston 3 miles away. An exit ramp here onto Trinity Place (and ultimately Stuart/St. James) would do wonders!
