What project presently has steel going up just south of NorthPoint near the water?

EF - Education First. The "earthquake" building.

Don't know when this started, but the DCR is doing a major revamp of their property east of the Gilmore bridge. They're currently building three large sheds (truck storage? salt piles?), closed their old enterance on North Point Blvd, built up the rear entrance by the train tracks with a new gate, fencing, signage, etc, and even put in a gate between jersey barriers for access to the railroad tracks (previously was just a metal chain that anyone could bust through with a car).

Re: NorthPoint Cambridge (The one that was train yards, the big plan.)

Is this an intentional (man made) pond, or does this site have a major groundwater issue. Piledriver is over on the far side of the site.

The Millers River is in an impermeable conduit right below here, and this used to be marshland. So it seems water can be a problem. I think the Northpoint Common (literally next to this parcel) was designed to handle alot of groundwater because of this.

Re: NorthPoint Cambridge (The one that was train yards, the big plan.)

HYM held a meeting for NorthPoint area residents last week and explained that they will have to start pumping all of that water very soon. Also they told us that the future developments closest to the railroad tracks will be on slightly elevated land so that water drains into NorthPoint Common (park in the middle of the development). The new apartment building will be LEED Silver and will contain a conduit to collect water that will be used to irrigate the park.

Thanks. Skatepark photo was my first photo post. The one that you corrected was taken today from the Gilmore Bridge in Cambridge. It shows the Building N construction at NorthPoint.

Any word on a start date for the skatepark?

Re: NorthPoint Cambridge (The one that was train yards, the big plan.)

That render of the 20 story tower is stubbier than I was hoping. Is that the only one or are there more high-rises planned for North Point? I would hope so because the low rise residential buildings in this area just don't feel right.

Now that the water situation seems to be under control they are now running into old foundations. You can see one in the center of the photo. (Surprise???)

Man, what was here long ago? More train yard structures from way back when?
