I'm typing with a hangover right now. I was in Providence last night for some of the March Madness (they're hosting a bunch of the games) and it's like being in the French Quarter. People are roaming the streets with beers and bars are hosting block parties. If you can get to Providence this weekend, you're going to have a good time (just don't expect a hotel room).
I'm not too fond of those new apartment towers in Providence. They look like they belong in Charles River Park. Maybe they look better in real life than in these photos?
^Not really. The architecture is sort of cheap looking and they don't do much with the street around them (Exchange) which actually has a large surface lot (at a lower grade) across the street. Not wonderful.
The towers are sort of unique in that they were designed to align with the large, round basin of the Waterplace park/riverwalk. They are VERY cool from that perspective as they sit right on the walkway/ stage area there. Great for the Waterfires.
*edit*
Is that a Wild Willy's in Watertown? Yuck. That's one of the most gawdawful burger places I've ever been in my life. I don't know how they survive.
Took an impromptu roadtrip out to Chicago, many more pictures await. Here's some Hartford. Let's just say that being the passenger while stuck in traffic = major luckout picture-wise!
Nice. On a road trip to Long Island, I had the same good luck, but unfortunately the camera wasn't as good as I would have liked, and most if not all of the pictures came out blurry due to the time of day. Can't wait for the rest!
Waterbury is an interesting city. Seems underrated, but maybe that's just because I've only ever seen it from the highway and the highway cuts straight through downtown (must have been pretty devastating for downtown when it happened).
