Re: Wynn Everett Casino | Everett
Without knowing Rifleman's thoughts on the casino itself, I think people overestimate their impact on the surrounding area. Everett is too dumpy and too far away from the middle Boston, which is where conventioneers want to be. Putting a casino there no matter how much effort Wynn puts into styling it isn't going to take the place of that. Casinos are no longer a novelty. Then people seriously start thinking Wynn is going to pony up billions to improve transit out of the goodness of his own heart (I've actually seen people comment like this oi the Glob). Like that express monorail from the classic Simpson's episode going between Everett and downtown.
People can gamble all they want for all I care. But lets be clear headed about this place. Yachts aren't going to be sailing up the Mystic to get to it. It'll draw the scratch ticket crowd and various other oldies, not turn Everett into Vegas.
