Forecaster Building Addition |121-127 Portland Street | West End

Went by there the other day. The building has no roof. The crane tower is inside the building.

They started this restoration well before One Canal even broke ground. I'm baffled why this project is taking so long.

two thoughts would be client re-planning or issues with historical preservation. Just spit balling

not really seeing any progress

Any takers on which will top out first this 4-story addition or the 38 floor Avalon North Station?

I've watched this renovation for a year (since they started carting out the building's insides). Very slow ... but they basically gutted the building, rebuilt the internals, and dropped a crane in there, too, so I'm not sure it's a fair comparison! :p

By the way - it looks totally different from the other side (quite gruesome, actually). I guess that's why the glossy materials show lots of units with only one window wall!

So there has been a tower crane on this site for some six months. It clearly has a way to go. There are not that many units in this thing and they are not that premium. The fees for this crane must be devouring potential profits.

The crane will be fitted out as a weathervane atop the building, a la Mike Mulligan's steam shovel.

Interesting. How much does something like that cost?
